Working Together With Seale Print: A 30-Year Business Relationship

Working Together With Seale Print: A 30-Year Business Relationship

Some business relationships start with a single job and grow over time. Ours goes back much further than that. I first got to know Anna at Seale Print around 30 years ago, when I was selling paper to her business. At the time, I certainly didn’t imagine that all these years later we would still be working together – but in a very different way.

From selling paper to working together

My original relationship with Seale Print was through my work selling paper. I supplied paper to the business and got to know Anna over the years. Things changed when I moved into the print industry myself. I bought Dynamic Print in 2018, and our relationship developed into something quite different. One of the first ways we began working together was through seeded paper. Seale Print bought seeded paper from us for some of their work, while I used Seale Print’s mailing services when I needed them. So, rather than simply being a supplier and customer, we found ourselves working together in both directions.

Two print businesses with different strengths

Over the years, we’ve worked on a variety of projects and have been able to use each other’s experience and services where they make sense. At Dynamic Print, we specialise in areas such as hot foil printing, embossing, debossing, die cutting and specialist printing, including working with unusual and sustainable papers. Seale Print has its own areas of expertise, including print and direct mail, which has been particularly useful when a project requires mailing services alongside the printed materials. It’s a good example of how independent print companies can work together rather than trying to do everything themselves.

A relationship built over 30 years

What started around 30 years ago with me selling paper to Seale Print has developed into a long-standing professional relationship between two businesses. We’ve seen plenty of changes in the print industry during that time, from the growth of digital printing to the increasing demand for sustainable papers and more specialist print finishes. The businesses have changed, our roles have changed and the way we work together has changed – but the relationship has continued.

We’ve also put together a more detailed business case study with Seale Print & Direct Mail, which looks at our working relationship and some of the projects and services we’ve worked on together.

It’s always nice to look back at how a business relationship started. What began with me selling paper to Seale Print around 30 years ago has evolved into us supporting each other’s businesses in completely different ways. And that’s one of the things I like about the print industry you never quite know where a good business relationship will lead.
